CHARGED WITH THEFT FROM BURGER KING
Yesterday 8:15 am, detectives completed an internal theft investigation that was begun in early July. Police learned that an employee of Burger King Restaurant on Great Northern Road was stealing a small quantity of cash during some of the shifts she was working.

Yesterday morning, detectives arrested and charged Chesley Sherlock, age 21 of 77 Cameron Avenue with twenty-nine counts of Theft under $5,000.00. She will appear in court on September 29th.


ARMED AND DANGEROUS YOUTH CAPTURED AGAIN
The 15-year-old male young person, who escaped from lawful custody at the Youth Centre located at 631 Second Line West on August 24th by running from the courtyard through an open gate, has been captured by Police.

Yesterday, shortly after 11:00 pm, patrol officers received information that he was at a residence in the 800 block of Second Line East. At 11:30 pm, officers executed the First Instance Arrest warrant on the male as he attempted to escape the authorities by climbing out a window of the residence. He was arrested and charged with Being Unlawfully at Large. He will appear in bail court today.

This young offender was the subject of an authorization from a judge allowing for his name to be published and as such the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.


MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED SEXUAL CRIMES
Between June 1st 2003 and mid July 2003, the accused, a 44-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man, allegedly sexually assaulted and sexually interfered with two young female children by touching their groin areas.

The victims and the accused were both known to each other. On the 14th of July 2003, the accused went to the police station and was arrested and charged with two counts of Sexual Assault and two counts of Sexual Interference.

Detectives from the Investigation Services Section also seized a computer from the accused's residence. Investigation into this computer by the Technical Crime Unit Section revealed that from early June 2003 until mid July 2003, the accused accessed child pornography contrary to Section 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code.

Yesterday at 10:34 am, detectives arrested and charged the accused with this offence. He will appear in bail court today.


MAN ASSAULTS CO-WORKER
Yesterday, the accused, Bruce Pringle, age 44 of 87 Pardee Avenue, allegedly assaulted a co-worker as they were working on a job site in the city's east end.

The accused ALLEGEDLY assaulted the victim by punching him in the face and throwing him to the ground. The victim was not seriously injured in the incident. The accused will appear in court on September 29th.


BREAK & ENTERS
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated two break-ins yesterday.

Shortly after 9:00 am a resident in the 600 block of Albert Street West advised police that sometime overnight thieves broke into his shed and had stolen a large quantity of scuba diving equipment.

At 9:15 am, an employee at Cotton Colours on Gore Street called police to advise them about a break and enter where a small quantity of cash was taken.
