Bail court: Last evening at approx.9:00 pm city police were called to a west end address regarding a domestic dispute. As a result of police investigation a 41-year-old male was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.

Last evening at approx.9:00 pm city police were called to a west end address regarding a domestic dispute. As a result of police investigation a 41-year-old male was arrested and charged with three counts of assault. It is alleged that last evening the accused was involved in an argument with his common-law wife. During the argument the accused pushed and punched his common-law wife and her two sons. One victim was punched in the face and suffered minor injuries. Medical attention was not required.

Male charged with assault:

Yesterday morning at approx 10:20 am city police were called to the Station Mall regarding an assault. Upon arrival officers arrested an 18-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Hollywood Beauty Salon and began to harass one of the female employees. When the Mall security officer arrived the accused punched the security officer in the face. Charged with one count of assault is Morgan Brown, age 18 of 1616 Wellington St. E.

Female arrested for Impaired Driving:

Last night at approx. 6:25 pm city police were called to the intersections of Lyons Ave at Wellington St. W. and Carmen’s Way at Wellington St. W regarding two vehicle collisions. As a result of police investigations it was learned that one vehicle was involved in two separate motor vehicle collisions. It is alleged that Marie Lepage, age 56, of 23 Grosvenor Ave was operating her vehicle southbound on Wellington St. W. and turned left at Lyons Ave striking a vehicle at this location. It is further alleged that the accused continued to travel east and struck two vehicles that were stopped at the traffic lights at Carmen’s Way. Attending police officers noticed that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was asked to provide a roadside breath test but she refused. Marie Lepage is charged with one count of fail to comply with A.L.E.R.T. demand and one count of impaired driving. She will be appearing in court on May 25th at 9:00 am. The driver of the vehicle involved in the first collision was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Property Crimes:

Break and enter


The Sault Ste Marie Police Service investigated one reported break and enter yesterday. A residence in the 300 block of Sydenham Rd was entered. It is unknown at this time what was taken.

Mischief

City Transit reports that four windows on the bus shelter at Goulais Ave and Second Line W. were damaged yesterday.
A residence in the 400 block of Second Line W. had a front door window broken.
A door was damaged at an apartment building in the 100 block of Princess Cr.
A commercial outdoor sign was damaged in the 1200 block of Wellington St. E.

Thefts

Two bicycles were reported stolen yesterday. One was taken from the 300 block of Allen’s Side Rd. and the other was taken from the 300 block of Old Goulais Bay Rd.
A shopper reported that her purse was taken from her shopping cart at the Pine St. Food Basic Store yesterday afternoon.
City police investigated two reports of thefts from vehicles. Vehicles were entered in the 100 block of Bristol Pl – it is unknown what was taken, and the 600 block of Wellington St. E. a CD/ DVD player was taken.
