Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to the collision at around 2 a.m. today. After speaking to the driver, police say the officers had reason to believe he was impaired.
A further search of the vehicle turned up a prohibited knife, brass knuckles, and drug paraphernalia with residue, police say.

- failure or refusal to comply with a demand
- unauthorized possession of a weapon (x2)
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

- failure to comply with probation order (x4)
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
