A local man is facing impaired driving charges after Sault Police say they saw a vehicle drive through a four-way stop and then swerve into an oncoming lane — twice.

Police say the erratic driving occurred around 4:20 a.m. on Saturday in the area Bennett Boulevard and Boundary Road.

After pulling over the driver, police say the officers developed grounds to believe he had been drinking alcohol.

The man was arrested after multiple breath samples registered above the legal limit.

Jordie Belleau, 36, is charged with operation while impaired and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80.

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on March 11, 2024.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Belleau is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
