Driving 'side to side' leads to impaired charge for Sault man: Police

On Dec. 8, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit arrested 45 year old Stephen Elwgren of Newcastle Drive for impaired driving. 

Around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 8, 2019 officers noticed a vehicle driving side to side in a lane on Second Line West and conducted a traffic stop.

At this time officers noted an odor of alcohol coming from the accused. The accused provided samples into an approved instrument and registered two readings over the legal limit.  

He is charged with one count of impaired driving - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). He is schedule to appear in court on Jan. 20, 2020.
