Driver charged following Wallace Terrace collision

On Sept.13, 2017, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33-year-old [charge withdrawn] for an impaired driving related offence.

It is alleged that just before 9:30 p.m., the accused was operating a motor vehicle on Wallace Terrace in Sault Ste. Marie. At the time, the accused was travelling westbound in the eastbound lane and collided with a vehicle that was travelling westbound in that lane.

Officers arrived and developed grounds to believe that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. As a result, officers made a demand for the accused to provide a sample of her breath into an approved screening device. 

The accused refused to provide a sample of her breath into the device and was subsequently charged with one count of refusing to provide a breath sample. She will appear in court on Oct. 17, 2017.
