Domestic incidents lead to various charges

Three people have been arrested in separate incidents

SAULT STE MARIE POLICE SERVICE

On Oct. 4, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident.

It is alleged that on Oct. 4 the accused engaged in an argument with his girlfriend. The accused then punched the victim multiple times and broke pieces of her property. During the altercation the accused is also alleged to have choked the victim.

Police were contacted and the accused was taken into custody. He has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of mischief and one count of overcoming resistance by choking. He was held for bail court.

On Oct. 4, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 58-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident.

On Oct. 4, the accused engaged in a verbal argument with his girlfriend. The argument escalated and the accused is alleged to have assaulted the victim by pulling her hair and striking her with a pan.

Police were contacted and the accused was arrested. He has been charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of recognizance. He was held for bail court.

On Oct. 3, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 53-year-old female in relation to a domestic violence incident.  

It is alleged that the accused assaulted her common law boyfriend by punching him in the head. The accused then assaulted the victim with a pair of scissors causing minor injuries. The victim fled the scene and contacted police. 

Officers located the accused a short time later and she was taken into custody. She has been charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. She was held for bail court.
