Cyclist swerving in and out of traffic caught with suspected cocaine, crystal meth

On March 4, 2019, officers with the Patrol Services division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged 26-year-old Muhammet Kamacihan of Beverley Street with possession of a controlled substance.

It’s alleged on March 4, 2019, the accused was observed by officers swerving back and forth into oncoming traffic on his bicycle. When approached by officers, he fled from police.

Officers took him into custody a short time later; he is charged with three counts of breach of recognizance and one count of breach of probation.

While in custody, officers found what is believed to be small amounts of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine in his possession. He is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He was held for bail court.
