Crack, meth and pills seized in drug bust

Slew of charges for three as $14,000 in street drugs are seized

GARDEN RIVER - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) with the assistance of Anishinabek Police Service (APS) arrested three males and laid numerous charges related to a drug offences investigation.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized 76 grams of suspected cocaine/crack, 17.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 4.4 grams of suspected heroin, 119 oxycodone pills and 116 percocet pills. An approximate street value of $14,000.

Kody Solomon, 30 years of age, of Garden River First Nations Territory, Ont. was charged with the following;

  • Traffick in schedule I substance - methamphetamines (crystal meth) contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
  • Traffick in schedule I substance - cocaine contrary to section 5(1) CDSA,
  • Traffick in schedule I substance - opiod (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(1) CDSA,
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin, contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - other Drugs contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Traffick in schedule I substance - heroin contrary to section 5(1) CDSA,
  • Traffick in schedule I substance - cocaine (crack) contrary to section 5(1) CDSA,
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine (crack) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Breach of firearms regulation contrary to section 86(2) CC.

 Jamie Kyle Hill, 33 years of age, of Garden River First Nations Territory, Ont. was charged with the following;

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA,

Ralph Justin Romano, 43 years of age, of Garden River First Nations Territory, Ont. was charged with the following;

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(2) CDSA,
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA,
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) CC,
  • Obstruct peace officer contrary to section 129 CC.

 The accused persons are schedule to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Sept. 24, 2018, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
