Collision results in impaired driving charge

On Nov. 18, 2017, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20-year-old Jason Zayet-Mcleish of Market Street for impaired driving.

It is alleged that the accused was involved in a motor vehicle collision with another vehicle on Boundary Road at Park Street just before midnight on Nov. 18. Officers attended the scene and found that the accused was operating the vehicle while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol.

Upon his arrest the accused was found to be in possession of a small amount of a substance believed to be cocaine. 

He has been charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit and one count of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on Dec. 18, 2017.
