Charges laid after Sunday morning crash on Wallace Terrace

Vehicle struck three utility poles, police say

Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged a 33-year-old Sault man after Sunday morning's single-vehicle crash on Wallace Terrace.

Police say they responded to a crash on Wallace Terrace and Second Avenue around 9 a.m. on July 25.

Upon arrival, police report in a news release issued today, officers discovered a grey pick-up truck with extensive damage. Police say the vehicle struck three utility poles before coming to a stop.

Police developed grounds to believe the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired. He provided a breath sample and passed. Officers then read the accused the Drug Recognition Evaluation Bodily Substance Demand. Police say the accused refused to provide a blood sample.

As a result, Michael Peplow was arrested and charged with refusing to comply with a demand.

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 13, 2021.
