A 43-year-old was arrested yesterday in connection with a break-and-enter that occurred last summer.

At around 2:30 a.m. on July 28, 2023, someone phoned 911 to report a break-in at a business in the 200 block of Queen Street West.

Officers dispatched to the scene found evidence of a break-and-enter but no sign of a suspect.

“An investigation later identified the accused as the individual who had broken into the business,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

Kenneth Megginson, 43, is charged with:

  • Break and Enter
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order
  • Breach of Recognizance

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on April 22, 2024.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Megginson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
