Police: Alleged assailant wields chair at cops in Lorna Drive incident

One person is accused of assaulting police after officers responded to an altercation on Lorna Drive on Monday afternoon.

When responding officers attempted to speak with the accused, it is alleged that Robert Kelly "picked up a chair as if to swing it, and verbally threatened to throw it at officers," police said in a news release.

It is reported that Kelly resisted officers during his arrest.

As a result of this investigation, the 24-year-old was held in custody to await a bail hearing and stands charged with:
    •    Assault peace officer with weapon x3
    •    Resist peace officer
