19-year-old charged after victim stabbed on Albert Street West

Police have charged Shawn Seymour following a stabbing incident that occurred on Albert Street West early Friday morning.

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service alleges that at approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 9, the 19-year-old accused "was involved in an altercation at a residence in the 300 block of Albert Street West and he stabbed a victim with an unknown sharp object before fleeing the scene."

Police say the victim was treated at hospital for injuries.

Seymour was apprehended later the same day and arrested.

He was held for WASH court and stands charged with assault causing bodily harm.
