17-year-old faces numerous robbery charges

On Dec. 12, officers with the Investigation Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17-year-old male in relation to multiple robberies.

It is alleged that on June 30, the accused attended a store in the 200 block of Bay Street where he selected just under $100 worth of merchandise and left the store without paying.

On Dec. 11, just after 5 a.m., the accused attended a business in the 200 block of Dacey Road while armed with a knife. The accused demanded and obtained cash from the staff member and then fled the area.

On Dec. 12 at 2 a.m., the accused attended a business in the 600 block of Second Line West again armed with a knife. The accused again demanded and obtained cash from the employee and fled the scene.

Later on Dec. 12, at 4:16 a.m., the accused attended another business, this time in the 300 block of McNabb Street while armed with a knife. The accused again demanded and obtained cash from the employee and fled the scene. 

Officers located the accused just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 12 and he was taken into custody. He has been charged with three counts of robbery and one count of theft under $5,000. He was held for bail court.
