A 14-year-old faces assault and arson charges following a fire on Cathcart Street on Friday afternoon.
Police say the youth "started the fire and tried to assault someone known to them with a hammer and a utility knife while verbally threatening them."
There were no injuries reported in this incident, however, a shed and trailer were heavily damaged by fire.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on April 16 to face charges of:
• Assault with weapon x2
• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
• Arson – damage to property
