Mystery on Whitefish Island (12 photos)

Tiny doors are popping up everywhere

Some say it's forest fairies. Others say trolls, pixies or hobbits. Either way, they are at it again!

Fairy doors appear to be popping up all over Whitefish Island often appearing and then disappearing just as quickly. New doors are popping up every day.

In a futile attempt to get to the source SooToday followed up on a few leads but came up empty-handed.

A young source at the scene stated that fairy doors are placed there by visiting fairies and by opening one you get a glimpse into their mythical world.

Nice weather brings plenty of opportunities to take a walk to make new sightings as they pop up or add your painted rock artwork to the body of Batchewana First Nations - Rocko n'dishnikaaz community rock snake.

EDITOR'S NOTE: SooToday has received the following feedback on this story. We like this explanation and thought our readers would appreciate it, too. "The new houses were a combined effort of all the Whitefish woodland little people. The consortium agreed that a concerted effort was needed to reduce heavy-heartedness that seemed to be permeating the island recently."
