The De Havilland Beaver (DHC-2) is the most iconic and well-loved bushplane ever built. Starting in 1947, Beavers were designed with feedback from bush pilots – the plane had unparalleled STOL (short take-off and landing) distances, manoeuverability and durability with its all-metal construction. The Beaver was selected by the Engineering Institute of Canada as one of the top 10 Most Important Engineering Achievements of the 20th century. Out of the 1682 Beavers built, over 900 are still flying. This particular Beaver, CF-OBS, was the first production line Beaver and the first in a fleet of 44 DHC-2s that were purchased by the Ontario Provincial Air Service for fire suppression and transportation of equipment. It was donated by the Ministry of Natural Resources and could still be certified to fly, giving it the distinction of being the oldest flyable Beaver in the world.

If you are the successful bidder, you may add an option to have a professional photoshoot with Kevanna Studios with your aircraft or truck on Saturday, June 24th. Sessions are $50 and include an 8”x10” print and a digital file for social media. Proceeds support the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre. This option will be offered upon notification of successful bid.

We will offer you additional options (photoshoot with Kevanna or membership upgrade) and confirm pick up with you. Unless arranged otherwise, pick up is Thursday, June 15th between 10AM and 4PM at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre (50 Pim St.).
