Lopstock 3 ready to take flight (and you can watch it live on SooToday)

New live entertainment company, Sault Noir and its founder Brendan Garlick are looking forward to the return of Lopstock this weekend.

“I am super excited for the event, says Garlick.

“All of the acts are pumped up, tickets have been selling well.”

Lopstock 3 will feature local acts Pointless, Handsome Sandwich, Hollow Heads, Stoneburgh & Sawbé, Bold Noize, The Bag, Far From Fine, Jupiter Marvelous, Hannah Lindsay and Juliana Regan. 

Johnathan Belanger, drummer for Handsome Sandwich, is looking forward the event.

“We are thrilled to be a part of LopStock 3,” says Belanger.

“This is our first year doing this event. We’ve had a busy 2023 season and are happy to be able to have another venue to play at.”

Belanger notes that the wide diversity of bands and styles of music makes the event unique.

“There are so many great bands and performers on the roster for the event,” he says.

The event will have local folk, rap, indie rock, pop punk, shoegaze, and metal acts. 

“I expect to see our group there for most of the evening. We are excited especially for Pointless, as our producer, and sound engineer for our debut album ‘Deconstructed’ are both in the band [Dustin Goodall, and Bill Priddle].

Garlick is excited to show the community the original talent that is out there. 

“If people look in the mirror and see someone who supports local arts, has great taste in music, and recognizes a deal when they see it, then there's still time to buy a ticket. To anyone still on the fence, I would say that you're going to have a great time, be surrounded by awesome people, and the music is going to be fantastic,” he says.

Lopstock 3 is happening on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m.  SooToday's livestream of the event will go live at 10 minutes before start time.

The event takes place at Loplops (651 Queen St. East). Tickets for the event are $25 and can be purchased online here. Tickets are limited to 100.
