Stephane Richard, the president of the Canadian Camping Association, says his membership is in regular communication with provincial governments about the logistics of reopening this summer.
He said that about a million Canadian children attend summer camp every year.
Overnight camps were closed in every province except for New Brunswick last summer due to the pandemic.
