Murder arrest warrant obtained in fatal Wellington St fire

************************* Fire fatality from 606 Wellington Street East update - reclassified to a homicide and arson

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has obtained an arrest warrant for 48-year-old Gregory David Flesher of Waukegan, Illinois.

Charges pending against Gregory Flesher are second degree murder and arson - disregard for human life in the fatal fire at 606 Wellington Street East where 48-year-old Leeanne Elizabeth Hill died.

An extradition process has been started and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Investigators are working with the local Crown Attorney’s Office and the Crown Law Office in Toronto to return Gregory David Flesher to Canada to face these charges.

Investigators continue to work with law enforcement officials in the United States as well as the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the Northern Regional Forensic Lab as this investigation continues.
