The following statement was issued this afternoon by The Team 1200 Radio in Ottawa:

************************ To all who have been following the “boxed wine” story on SooToday.com, I would like to apologize on behalf of radio station Team 1200 in Ottawa.

I agree that the comments were in very poor taste, and we sincerely apologize to those who were understandably offended.

I have spoken with the hosts of “Three Guys on the Radio” and they would like to offer their sincere apologies as well.

They also want to make clear that it was not their intent to insult the women of Northern Ontario, or Aboriginal women, and they very much regret that that was how their comments could have been interpreted.

I am intrigued by your idea of a broadcast from the Sault, and will contact you shortly to talk about possibilities.
