Weekend Outlook: Snowflakes and windchills return

We can expect the colder-than-normal conditions to hang around all weekend and into much of next week

Spring continues to struggle to hold on in 2024 as another wave of cold air surges into Northern Ontario. Temperatures will cool off to near freezing in the mornings and overnight, and that, combined with a cool northwest wind, will bring even colder wind chill values and the chance of a few lake-effect flurries. We can expect the colder-than-normal conditions to hang around all weekend and into much of next week.

A cold front arrives Friday, bringing isolated showers later in the afternoon as temperatures reach 6°C. Skies will be mostly cloudy, but we will see a few sunny breaks. We could see a few isolated flurries in the evening and overnight as temperatures fall close to the freezing mark.

Saturday morning, there is a chance of wet flurries, followed by mostly cloudy skies for the rest of the day. Daytime highs will only reach 5°C, and gusty northwest winds will make it feel more like -1.

Sunshine returns on Sunday, but a cool northwest wind hangs on to keep temperatures near 7°C.
