************************* Motor vehicle collision results in fatality

Name released in fatal collision

WAWA,ON - On Sunday, November 20, 2011, at approximately 11:35 a.m., Superior East OPP in Wawa attended a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately 30 kms south of Wawa.

Pronounced deceased at the scene was 13-year-old Tyler Scott Spurrell of St. Philips, Newfoundland.

The driver of the tractor-trailer involved in the collision has been issued a summons for “Fail to Drive in Marked Lane” contrary to The Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
