************************** Motor vehicle collision with injuries on Trunk Road under investigation

Road closure

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at a motor vehicle collision with injuries that occurred at approximately 8:31 p.m. last night at the intersection of Trunk and Boundary Road.

Both involved drivers were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

One of the drivers involved is an OPP officer and was operating an unmarked police vehicle at the time of the collision.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Traffic Unit is still on scene at this time.

The Special Investigations Unit has also been called in and will be investigating this motor vehicle collision and as a result there will be no further details to be released regarding this collision by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at this time.

Road closure as a result of this motor vehicle collision investigation:

- Westbound traffic on Trunk Rd at Adeline/Boundary will be open to one lane only until further notice

- Eastbound traffic on Trunk Rd will not be affected

- The railway crossing at Adeline/McNabb and Trunk will also be closed until further notice.
