************************** Single motor vehicle collision with injuries - requesting public’s assistance with investigation

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with a single motor vehicle collision currently under investigation.

At approximately 11:15 am this morning a silver Ford Ranger pickup truck struck a PUC pole on Wellington Street East in the area of Tancred Street.

The driver fled on foot, leaving a female passenger injured inside the vehicle.

The female was extricated by the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services and transported to the Sault Area Hospital by EMS for treatment of what appears to be serious non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers are attempting to locate and identify the male driver.

He was described as wearing a white ball cap, blue jeans and a royal blue-coloured bomber style jacket.

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation.
