As the sun set behind the International Bridge last night a zombie hoard took to Clergue Park.

A small but determined band of resistance fighters faced off against at least 250 zombies spreading out and shambling across the park.

The resistance fighters bravely held their ground.

A hunter broke from the menacing wall of zombies to shoot across the art gallery parking lot in a perfect crouch like only a Left For Dead hunter can execute.

"Fall back!" screamed one of the resistance fighters. "Fall back! Seek cover! Aim for the heads!"

The sound of Nerf gun-fire rang out, cutting down zombies across the field but there were just too many.

The hoard swarmed over a few of the resistance fighters and other resistance fighters jumped into the fray, foam axes and swords flying.

And so the chaos continued under the stalwart gaze of City Hall as the sank and darkness descended.

All in all it was a pretty good night for everyone.

Event organizers filled a Santa Fe with non-perishable food items for the Algoma University food bank and participants had a great time, swearing to return for another round next year.
