The Safe Work, Sound Business Award, sponsored by Sault Ste. Marie Safe Communities Partnership, was presented to S & T Group.

The Safe Work, Sound Business Award recognizes a business that uses a safe work management system, participates in workplace and/or community injury prevention programs and has exceptionally good injury frequency and injury severity performance.

******************* Congratulations to S & T Group.

Established in 1984 by Andrew Sarlo and Dennis Tatasciore, S & T Electrical Contractors quickly became a full-service electrical contractor with the ability to serve the specific needs of the industrial, commercial and residential sectors.

Today, known as S & T Group, the business has grown to incorporate and wide range of services including: electrical, TEGG, sheet metal fabrication, technologies, data, refrigeration, security, and plumbing among others.

The company currently has approximately 150 employees and as the company had grown so too has its health and safety guidelines and policies.

Open communication is a key component of S & T’s safety programs, all job sites are required to conduct a job safety analysis prior to the start of each work day.

This activity ensures that all employees on site are well informed with current policies and practices and identifies any changes or hazards that may be encountered that day.

Job site safety audits are conducted by the Safety Coordinator weekly and audits are presented to senior management.

During the initial hiring process, all employees receive a company safety orientation and the safety training required to complete their tasks and ensure compliance with both company and legislated policies and regulations.

Congratulations once again to S & T Group for their efforts in improving heath and safety and for being named the recipients of this year’s Safe Work, Sound Business Award.
