Here's what they said about Treetop Adventures at Wednesday's award presentation:

******************* Congratulations to Treetop Adventures on receiving this year’s Business Development Award.

Treetop Adventures is located approximately 20 minutes north of Sault Ste. Marie in the community of Goulais River on the 85 acre parcel of property known as Joseph’s Homestead.

The idea for the business came to Murray and Cindy Joseph after enjoying a day in a similar Southern Ontario park and realizing that the mature forest back home would be an ideal location for such an attraction.

Six months later, Treetop Adventures opened with its 400-foot ‘Big Zip Line’.

Four years later, a wide selection of additional attractions and activities have been added including:

- The ground level team-building area which includes: ‘Human Fuzeball’, the low-rope course and the team-building obstacle course

- A three-acre paintball course

- The 1200 ft ‘mega zip line’

- And, the scavenger hunt team building course

In just a few short years, Treetop Adventures has become a popular destination for groups of all sizes and ages, from areas across Northern Ontario, from school groups looking for a fun and educational outing, to businesses looking for unique team-building activities.

In addition to creating a viable business that not only showcases the best of our local naturally beautiful surroundings, the Josephs have built a business that contributes to our local base of employment.

Starting with five to six employees in its first year of operations, Treetop Adventures has grown, and in 2011 employed 15 individuals during its seasonal operations.

Congratulations to Treetop Adventures!
