***************************** Update to Todd Petrie homicide investigation

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police is continuing to investigate the murder of Todd Petrie.

On the 27th of February, 2011, at 3:57 p.m., police received a call to attend at 142 Albert Street East, apartment #2 concerning a deceased male.

Police arrived and the body of Todd Petrie, age 48, was discovered.

Todd Petrie’s whereabouts leading up to that day continue to be investigated.

To date the police investigation has revealed that the victim lived alone in the upper apartment of 142 Albert St. East.

He was a well known person in the downtown area.

He was a security conscious person who kept his doors locked.

The investigators also believe that the victim likely knew his killer(s) and as a result had allowed entry into his apartment.
