Garden of Bedlam's dream is on hold, not forgotten

************************* Although disappointed they will not be taking the Essar Centre stage on Tuesday night, local heavy metal band Garden of Bedlam remain optimistic they will open for KISS when the concert is rescheduled for summer 2010. "Obviously it is disappointing, but being a band from Northern Ontario, we understand that weather can play a factor this time of year," said Garden of Bedlam drummer Derek Turner. "KISS is a band with a reputation of putting their fans first, so we definitely believe they will honour their commitment to play here." Garden of Bedlam has not been contacted by KISS or their management, but are hopeful that their victory in Rock 101's 20-band battle of the bands will still have them warming up the crowd before KISS takes the stage. "It has been a couple of hectic weeks for us with the battle of the bands, and getting ready for the concert," said Turner. "If anything, this has opened our eyes to the potential of this band and has made us hungry to take our careers to the next level." Turner is quick to point out the success of Garden of Bedlam has been due to devoted fans and support from the community.

"We've received airplay on the radio, been interviewed for print and television, and have had more than 2,500 hits on our myspace page since the battle of the bands," he said. "It has been unbelievable, having this kind of support." Garden of Bedlam will take the stage at Foggy Notions on Boxing Day, and are currently working on new material for a full-length album to be released summer of 2010.
