Name of homicide victim released

Next of kin notified

Officers from Investigation Services are continuing to work on the homicide.

Forensic Unit Officers are continuing to process the crime scene and it is expected that they will be at the residence for several more days.

Investigators have confirmed that the victim was stabbed and an edged weapon has been seized.

Officers have just confirmed that they have been able to notify next of kin. 

The deceased in the homicide is 42-year-old Corellie Bonhomme of no fixed address.

The accused and victim were known to each other and are not related.

The accused, 18-year old Johnathon Townsend of 379 Lake Street, Apartment G-9, was arrested and charged with one count of Second Degree Murder on August 10.

Mr. Townsend appeared in bail court on August 12 and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on August 14.
