Queen Street businesses open during construction

SAULT STE. MARIE - Though Queen Street East, between Simpson and Pim, will be under construction for the better part of the next six months, storefronts in the area will remain open for business.

In particular, the Algonquin Hotel/ Rockstar Bar, Chornyj’s-Hadke, Anchor’s Away, and Family Chiropractic Services/ Stephen Scott will be accessible for the duration of the road work.

Patrons can access these businesses, which are fully operating, via Pim Street and a rear laneway.

The portion of Queen Street is slated to be completely reconstructed, including the replacement of underground sewers, watermains and related services, as well as upgrades to sidewalks, curbs, street lighting, traffic signals and other utilities.

Completion of the project is expected by early November.
