Studio 10 is Rose landlord. Not partner: owner

Studio 10 owner Andre Trahan is leasing seven rooms to Rose's Escort Service, says Studio owner Andre Trahan. "She's leased the rooms from me and one has been available to her for a while now," he said this morning.

Studio 10 owner Andre Trahan is leasing seven rooms to Rose's Escort Service, says Studio owner Andre Trahan.

"She's leased the rooms from me and one has been available to her for a while now," he said this morning.

As reported earlier by SooToday.com, Rose's Escort Service placed an advertisement in the Sault Star saying a Bar and Brothel would be opening at Studio 10 on the corner of Queen Street West and Hudson Street this coming weekend.

In response to that and reports that others were also planning to set up brothels around town before any city bylaws were in place, City Council held a special meeting yesterday.

A moratorium was placed on brothels that is to last until the recently changed law banning them comes into place in March 2013 and until the city has had adequate time for public consultations and research needed to create a bylaw governing brothels and bawdy houses in Sault Ste. Marie.

Trahan said Rose's Escort Service has signed a lease with him, paid its rent and taken possession of at least one room already.

He is not aware of what the service is doing with that room but Trahan says he does know the service plans to move its office and operations into the building, if it hasn't already done so, and to be ready to operate out of the Studio this weekend.

What those operations will be is yet to be determined and something he, as landlord, is not privy to.

Studio 10 is the Sault's only fully nude strip club and has been in business for more than 20 years.

Besides exotic dancers, it's also known for its deep-fried mushrooms and chicken wings.

An adult clothing and novelty boutique, Amore, is also located in the building.
