The CN Rail line that connects Sault Ste. Marie to Hearst, Ontario has actually been open since yesterday morning, reports CN.

It was temporarily closed on Sunday morning when 11 cars derailed from a 34-car train.

The rails were cleared of the debris in better-than expected time and trains are running as scheduled on the line today.

Yesterday, CN incorrectly reported the line would be closed until this morning.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Loyal SooToday.com reader Travis McCormack sent the photos of the wreck site saying that, as of yesterday evening, there was still debris strewn in the woods but the site was mostly cleared.

"'If a steel roll falls in the woods does it make a sound?'," wrote McCormack. "There are only be a few train cars left at the scene and a dozen or so steel rolls strewn in the woods down the embankment."
