Train derailment near Searchmont temporarily closes tracks

CN Rail reports that a 11 of 34 cars on a northbound freight train in the Searchmont area derailed yesterday morning at about 7:15 a.m.
CN Rail reports that a 11 of 34 cars on a northbound freight train in the Searchmont area derailed yesterday morning at about 7:15 a.m.
 
"There were no injuries, spills or environmental issues," said company spokesperson Lindsay Fedchyshyn today. "CN was on the on the scene very quickly after the derailment."
 
The track remains closed while the derailed cars are removed.
 
Fedchyshyn said CN expects to reopen the track sometime tomorrow morning.
 
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
