Loyal SooToday,com reader Travis McCormack sent us photos of some unexpected - given recent weather - activity at Searchmont Resort on the weekend.
"Just when you thought all the snow was gone, a dedicated group of Searchmont and Area Freestyle Association (SAFA) riders has found a little oasis of snow left on the slopes of Searchmont Resort this Sunday," Travis notes.
"The event, now in it's 10th year, is named Kamp Kicker. The event in its inaugural year was was held on the May 3 and 4 weekend of 2003. Depending on snow conditions. the event is normally held a week or two after regular ski hill operations have finished. t's just our group up on the mountain hiking to our heart's content. SAFA would like to extend a big thank you to Searchmont Resort for helping us continue this tradition and for all the support throughout the season!
