Algoma Multicultural Centre presented its third annual ”Multicultural Evening” at Sault College this past weekend.

This event was designed to provide guests with an awareness of the various cultural backgrounds through exposure to international foods, cultural dances and world music.

The nearly 350 people in attendance had the opportunity to learn more about large cultural groups that reside in Sault Ste. Marie and the district of Algoma.

Those groups included First Nations, Latin American, East Indian, Caribbean, African, Chinese, Japanese and Italian.

The fan favorites at the intertaional food vendor tables appeared to be the East Indian Butter Chicken and the First Nations Buffalo Stew.

Algoma Multicultural Centre was also proud to present a special guest speaker from Chicago, Stan Pearson, whose presentations connect, entertain, and educate.

Pearson is a motivational speaker who uses comedy and dance to connect with his audience.

Algoma Multicultural Centre is a non-profit organization, dedicated to fostering social dialogue, interaction, respect, friendship and self-care between newcomers of varying cultural backgrounds and established residents of Sault Ste Marie and the Algoma district by providing a positive, dynamic environment in which to connect through valuable multicultural events and programs.
