Under the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, organizations that receive provincial funding are required to disclose the names of those paid $100,000 or more per year.

It's a pretty extensive list.

At the very top of that list amongst those employed in Sault Ste. Marie is Sault Area Hospital President and CEO Ron Gagnon.

In 2011 Mr. Gagnon earned $300,296.22 and received taxable benefits totaling $12,593.48.

It may surprise some readers to know that this is actually a pay cut for the Hospital head honcho.

His earnings for 2010 totaled $314,351.13 plus a taxable benefit of $13,593.

Ranked second on the Sault $100,000 Hotties List, and just shy of Mr. Gagnon, is another SAH employee - Associate Pathologist Paul Mozarowski.

He earned $296,970.76 in 2011 plus a taxable benefit of $1,053.90.

Other Saultites of note include Sault College President Dr. Ron Common ($279,219.77); Chief of Police Bob Davies ($187,966.12); Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board Director of Education, John Stadnyk ($187,460.75); and Algoma District School Board Director of Education, Mario Turco ($183,312.64).

Algoma University employees were paid some impressive bucks with President Richard Myers earning $199,000.08, Associate Professor Celia Ross $173,851.68, and Academic Dean Arthur Perlini $162,838.08.

The City of Sault Ste. Marie Chief Administrative Officer Joe Fratesi earned a cool $183,137.48 and a taxable benefit of $6,405.72 in 2011.

This is an increase over 2010 where he earned $178,554.63 plus taxable benefits totaling $6,250.90.
