SooToday.com received the following announcement today from the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre regarding retired Sault Ste. Marie Juvenile Family Court Judge, Derek Holder.

HOLDER, G. Derek Q.C. – Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the age of 91.
Beloved husband of 56 years to Patty.
Loving father of Michael (Sandra), Steven (Terri-Lee), Pamela (David Murphy) and Peter.
Grandfather of Alexander, Mikaela, Claire, Emily and Tara.
Dear brother of Donald (Margie) and predeceased by Tom, Ralph, John and Keith.
Derek will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Derek practiced law from the 1940’s until he was called to the bench in 1967.
He retired after serving 29 years as a Juvenile Family Court Judge in Sault Ste. Marie and District in 1995.
Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 12 noon.
