Several Soo Curlers rinks are enjoying success as the season moves along.

Loyal reader Janet Lemieux sent us a note describing the achievements of two guys she knows rather well.

"My husband Dan Lemieux made it out of his regionals last weekend to advance to the Northern Ontario Men’s Curling Provincials," she notes.

The event will be held at Soo Curlers from February 5 to 11.

Dan is on the Tim Phillips rink.

The Brad Jacobs team will also participate.

The winner of this event will advance to the Brier as Northern Ontario's representative.

Meanwhile, notes Janet: "This weekend my son Mitchell Lemieux made it out of his regionals to attend the [boys] Bantam Northern Ontario Curling Provincials. I have two curlers going to two different provincials in the same year. Not very often something like this happens. Very proud of them."

Mitchell and other members of the Scott Morphet rink will compete in Fort Frances during the first week of February.

And, Leah Hodgson's girls bantam rink will curl early next month for provincial honours in Longlac.
