The trust's website, substantially upgraded over the weekend, also lists local support from the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club, Northern Credit Union, Child Care Algoma, Howson Driving School, the Sault Ste. Marie Knights of Columbus, and the students and staff of Sir James Dunn High School and St. Mary's College, among others.

McMeeken Center

The first fundraiser for Wheelan will take place April 26 at the McMeeken Center.

The event will feature a fashion show with local models from L'Image Model Management and a video presentation with messages to Wheelan from his family and friends.

Particpants will also be able to leave their own message at a Speaker's Corner.

Tickets are $20 and can be obtained by clicking on this.
