Coast Guard to close West Neebish Channel on Monday

Following the closure of the Soo Locks, Per 33 CFR 162.117, Director VTS St Marys River will close the West Neebish Channel as of 8 a.m. on Jan. 17, the U.S. Coast Guard said in a news release issued today. 

Traffic will be rerouted to alternating one-way in the Munuscong and Middle Neebish Channels.

The Coast Guard would like to remind all recreational ice users to plan their activity carefully, use caution on the ice, and stay away from shipping channels.
