With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grammie, at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday May 4, 2024 at the age of 97 with her family by her side.

Reunited with the love of her life Calvin (predeceased 2003). Cherished mother of William (Susan), Patricia (Stephen), and James. Adored Grammie of Michael, Matthew (Nicole), and Christine (Alex). Great-Grammie of Xavier and Addison. Predeceased by her parents John and Mary McEwen. Sister of predeceased Mac, Ida, Mary, Doris and William. Marjorie will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Marjorie knew she was a very kind, passionate and a strong woman. As someone who was an avid volunteer, she spent many hours knitting hats for the newborns at SAH, slippers for ARCH and dedicated many years of service with Central United Church, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross, May Court Club and Christmas Cheer. Her dedication towards helping others was recognized through her many volunteer awards. She loved to rug hook, cross stitch, make family albums and she had an extensive stamp and coin collection. But her true passion was knitting. She gifted many afghans and baby blankets to family and friends over the years.

Marjorie had a love for entertaining. The coffee pot was always loaded and ready to go and she could whip up some hors d’oeuvres in a moments notice. If her house was full so was her heart. She enjoyed nothing more than having family and friends over whether she was at home or at the cottage. Marjorie’s favourite view was from the deck of the cottage looking out over Lake Huron as the sun would glisten across the water.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522) on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11 am with Rev. Laurie Stevenson officiating. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to A.R.C.H., Central United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Sullivan family.
