Queen Street Cruise set to roll this weekend

This year’s June 16 and 17 event in support of Sault Area Hospital Foundation has moved to the Roberta Bondar Pavilion

The Queen Street Cruise takes place this Friday and Saturday, June 16 and 17, in support of the Sault Area Hosptial Foundation.

Organizers say they have an "exceptional number" of vehicles and vendors lined up for the event, with all registration proceeds going toward obtaining medical equipment for the local hospital.

Fans of food, fun, music and cars will want to check out this popular event, which has moved to a new venue. Details are in the news release below:

With the massive success of prior shows, this year’s Queen Street Cruise has moved to the Roberta Bondar Pavilion, along Foster Drive and the North Civic Centre parking lot for expanded space unavailable at the GFL Memorial Gardens. 

On Friday night, make your way to the Roberta Bondar Pavilion by 6 p.m. A parade of vehicles will be leaving to cruise down Bay and Queen Street with whatever you’ve got: car, motorcycle, truck, anything!

Local band Boneyard will be shredding the stage from 7 to 10 p.m. at Roberta Bondar Pavilion.

Many food and snack vendors available on site including Pino’s, Low n’ Slow, Lil’ Orbits, 40 Below Freeze Dried Snacks, Nova Grill and Beaver Tails! Features from local dealerships including Northside Volkswagen, Mazda and Toyota, Maitland Ford Lincoln and Prouse Motors. 

Live on location is a $5,000 early-bird draw taking place Friday at 8 p.m.

To have your 5 Car Draw ticket included in this early-bird draw, you must have purchased your ticket by 7 p.m. local time. (Any ticket purchased after 7 p.m. on Friday, June 16 will not be entered into the early-bird draw.)

Saturday’s Show n' Shine car show opens with registration starting at 9 a.m. Boneyard returns to the Pavilion stage, along with all of the food vendors for your hunger needs!

A beer garden available both days under the Pavilion tent.

Sault Area Hospital Foundation will be on site selling 5 Car Draw tickets, with prize vehicles on display throughout the grounds. This year’s event features 10 prize categories with prizes from IDA/Sweet Greetings, McDougall Fuels, Mr. Sparkles Car Wash and Princess Auto. 

Live on location, the 5 Car Draw takes place Saturday at 3 p.m. Ticket sales close at 2 p.m. local time.

Gateway Casino Sault Ste. Marie is hosting a Queen Street Cruise Casino Night on Saturday evening with a feature menu from 4 to 9 p.m. along with live entertainment by Encore from 8 to 11 p.m. Gateway Casino will be drawing 6 car detailing packages throughout the evening. Gateway will have a tent on Cruise grounds as well with giveaways. 

Pre-registration for the event will close on Wednesday June 14 at 8 p.m. Registration is available on site, however, pre-registered vehicles will experience a much quicker experience on the day of the event. We strongly encourage you to pre-register. See you Friday and Saturday!
