The St. Mary's Knights made it a perfect two-for-two.

On Saturday afternoon at Rocky DiPietro Field, the Knights captured the High School Football League junior division city championship with a 23-7 victory over the Sir James Dunn Eagles to complete a sweep of the city titles.

The victory, which gave the Knights their third consecutive junior crown, came just hours after St. Mary's captured the senior division title 41-7 over Eagles.

After kicker Ricky Lamon split the uprights with a 39 yard field goal, the Knights quickly converted two turnovers into 10 points to take a 13-0 lead at the half as Michael Martens caught a 15 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Taylor Zalewski and Lamon booted a 34 yard field goal.

Craig Rushon scampered in for a six yard touchdown for a 20-0 Knights lead before Matt Wagner put the Eagles on the board with a one yard touchdown run followed by a Jessy Depetrillo convert. Lamon, who also added two converts, completed the scoring with another field goal from 23 yards out.

Matt Buchan led the Knights offense with 67 yards rushing on 10 carries while Rushon added 37 yards on eight carries. Quarterbacks Zalewski and Jake Yukich combined to complete four of 11 passes for 88 yards including two completions to Martens for 63 yards.

Defensively, Rushon recorded 4.5 tackles while Josh Deluco and Mac Douglas added four each. Justin Travaligni and Cody McDonald each recorded an interception while Rushon and Jordan Kimewon each recovered fumbles.

For the Eagles, who were held to 116 yards of offense, Wagner rushed for 55 yards on 17 carries and Jason Piper caught a 41 yard pass.

Piper led the Sir James Dunn defense with eight tackles while Wagner added five and Robert Ramsay 4.5. Patrick Noland recorded 3.5 tackles and a sack while Todd Wagner recovered a pair of fumbles.
