Knights and Colts pick up basketball wins

The Knights picked up a 43-29 victory over Superior Heights at Superior Heights Thursday in a game that saw St. Mary’s trail early on in the contest.

A balanced scoring attack saw Serena Pulente, Hannah Soares and Taryn Lamorie score eight points each for the Knights.

Kiara Hamilton led all scorers in the game with 12 points for Superior Heights. Maggie Kirk added eight points for the Steelhawks.

In Thursday’s other senior game, Tori Ivey scored 18 points as the Korah Colts beat the White Pines Wolverines 39-28. Riley Crockford led White Pines with eight points.

In junior action on Thursday, Alyssa Rizzo scored six points while Jayme Meser added five as St. Mary’s beat Superior Heights 27-19.

Annie Damignani scored 11 points for Superior Heights.

The other junior game Thursday night saw Korah beat White Pines 38-13. Samantha Hyde and Makenna Cameron had 13 points each for Korah while Stephanie DelBosco had five points for White Pines.

In Tuesday’s basketball action, Pulente had 10 points to lead St. Mary’s to a 26-20 win over White Pines in senior action. Emma Filion added five points for St. Mary’s while Riley Crockford had 12 points for White Pines.

Tuesday’s other senior game saw Carina Hargis score 23 points to lead Korah to a 64-44 win over Superior Heights. Maggie Kirk had 19 points for the Steelhawks.
