OHL Playoff Notebook: Battalion return to Eastern final

The Eastern Conference final now has its second entry. The North Bay Battalion advanced to the Eastern Conference final with a 7-5 victory over the Barrie Colts on Saturday night in Barrie.

The North Bay Battalion advanced to the Eastern Conference final with a 7-5 victory over the Barrie Colts on Saturday night in Barrie.

Mike Amadio and Brenden Miller had a goal and two assists each for the Battalion. Nick Paul and Mathew Santos added two goals each. Nick Moutrey had the otherNorth Bay goal in the series clinching victory.

Kevin Labanc had two goals and an assist for the Colts. Matthew Kries, Michael Webster and Andrew Mangiapane also scored for Barrie.

The Battalion now face the Oshawa Generals in a rematch of the 2014 Eastern final, a series the Battalion won in four games.

The Western Conference final will feature the Soo Greyhounds meeting the Erie Otters in a battle of the top two seeds in the conference.

The Otters fell in five games to the Guelph Storm in the Western Conference final last season.
