Thanks to a five-goal second period, the Soo Thunderbirds rebounded in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League championship series.

Just 24 hours after losing the first game of the NOJHL final to the Cochrane Crunch, the Soo Thunderbirds rebounded with an 8-0 victory to even the league final at one game apiece,

Leading 1-0 after one period, the Thunderbirds broke the game open with five in the second period to seal the victory.

Owen Headrick and Nick Tassone had a goal and two assists to lead the Thunderbirds offensively. David Radke, Anthony Miller, Jaren Bellini, Boris Katchouk, Matt Pinder and Nic Sicoly added a goal and an assist for the Thunderbirds.

Mario Culina stopped 18 shots for the shutout.

Game three is Thursday night in Cochrane.
