Greyhounds ink young defenceman

The Soo Greyhounds have signed another member of their 2014 draft class. The team announced on Thursday that they have signed defenceman Mac Hollowell, who was selected in the 12th round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.

The team announced on Thursday that they have signed defenceman Mac Hollowell, who was selected in the 12th round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.

"He made huge strides from his minor midget year to now," Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis said in a release. "Throughout training camp Mac has really shown through his skating and hockey IQ that he will be an important part of our teams future."

Hollowell had eight goals and 27 points in 38 games with the Niagara Rivermen during the 2013-14 season.

Hollowell is one of six members of the 2014 draft class that has signed with the Greyhounds.

The team has also signed forwards Anthony Salinitri, Boris Katchouk, Tim Gettinger, Jack Kopacka and goaltender Joseph Raaymakers.
